A turbine spinning in the water while salmon migrate upriver to spawn doesn’t sound like a good combination; however, initial research suggests they can coexist without issue. A new video from the Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP), PMEC’s home at UAF, shows experiments testing the effects of marine energy turbines on migrating fish populations.
